…a little experiment…

November 28, 2010 @ 11:55 am

...just sound doodling with the recording I made of the train trip I made from Cardiff a couple of weeks ago...posted on November 17th...trying a new piece of software...just a little experiment in changing source sounds...ongoing discoveries...so now the first part of that recording now sounds like this...

The experiment continues...no end in sight...disappointed (and frustrated) by the detail which is missing on this mp3 in comparison with the .wav original

The train approaching platform…

November 17, 2010 @ 12:29 am

The 18.50 Cardiff Central to Manchester Piccadilly train. A cold, dark, November evening as it travels between Ludlow and Craven Arms at around 8.30pm. This train sounded as if every mile was complete agony for it and this exhausted, struggling drone, lasted for the entire duration of my journey...

Nevertheless, despite the tiring underscore of my journey a great afternoon was had talking to some lovely students at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama...I'm so envious of the wonderful education they're getting and the exciting times ahead for both them and this fantastic college. I feel very fortunate to be able to spend time with the students here and at many other institutions around the world and always leave invigorated and inspired by them all.

Guy Fawkes Night - North Manchester

November 5, 2010 @ 9:35 pm

Bang...sizzle...bang...bang outside as I try to finish a mix in time for tomorrow...reminded of the time a colleague asked for fireworks which sounded less like gunpowder exploding...still working on that one...

Guy Fawkes Night in North Manchester.
